The Royal Australian Navy has a had a diverse variety of craft since the fleet was established in Australian waters in 1913. A small number of de-commissioned RAN vessels remain extant. Some remain in their operational condition, however a number have been adapted to new roles. Others were vessels that were requisitioned and undertook war service, and have reverted to their original role, or undergone a further evolution in their history.
