DescriptionKOHI was built for William Marr, and launched in December 1964 from Norman Wright's Quay St, Bulimba yard. It was designed by Ronald Wright. The 13.40m long vessel was delivered to Sydney arriving on the 10th January 1965. It was designed as a bridge deck cruiser and has a flying bridge on the cabin top. The raised deck hull is carvel planked in Oregon with splined seams; it has a laid beech planked deck with teak margins and teak cabin planking. The original engines were BMC Sealord diesels, but they were replaced with the Volvo engines during the late 1980s.

KOHI became one of the Norman Wright show boats for the 1960s and used extensively to promote the design skills and workmanship of Norman R Wright and Sons at boat shows and yacht club events, competing for a share in the market that was largely taken by vessels from Lars Halvorsen Sons, with other builders taking an occasional order.

KOHI was its original name, and it was later renamed MANIHI, but in 2007 reverted to its original name KOHI.

SignificanceKOHI is a luxury motor cruiser built by Norman R Wright and Sons Pty Ltd in 1964 for a private owner in Sydney. It is one of the few craft built by this well-known Brisbane firm for the Sydney market, then dominated by Halvorsen built craft. It shows the wide range of craft built by Wright's firm, one of the premier builders in Queensland.
