DescriptionKU-RING-GAI is a 14.3 metre long bridge deck motor cruiser, and was built in 1951. It is carvel planked in oregon and the superstructure is teak. The 47 foot long hull is fitted out for luxury cruising with cabins, a galley and salloon, and has had a flying bridge added.It is powered by twin diesel engines. KU-RING-GAI was built for horse racing identity Stan Fox, and named MISS EVE. It is a sister vessel to KALINDA (HV000463).

It is one of the flagships of the impressive collection of existing Halvorsen vessels that are spread throughout Australia, and was featured on the cover of the book about the Halvorsen boatbuilding family, 'Wooden Boats, Iron Men' by Randi Svensen.

In 2006 KU-RING-GAI is used as a family motor cruiser on Sydney Harbour and north to Broken Bay, the home waters for many of the Halvorsen fleet. It is kept in superb condition and showcases the Halvorsen's fine craftsmanship and design abilities.

SignificanceKU-RING-GAI is a motor cruiser built in Sydney in 1951. It is one of the many high quality motor vessels that were made by Lars Halvorsen Sons at their two Sydney based yards over many decades, and is an important example of the stylish wooden luxury craft drawn by Harold Halvorsen.
