DescriptionMISTY was built by Harry Hammond at his Brookvale, Sydney factory in 1958. The clinker planked hull is made from Queensland maple and is fitted with its original Ford V8 inboard engine. MISTY has only had two owners. Hammond built all his craft to order, and MISTY would have been fitted-out to the original owner’s specific requirements.

The deck planking has been replaced and new upholstery fitted, but almost all other material and fittings are original. MISTY is now used for recreational outings and is taken to vintage powerboat and wooden boat displays.
SignificanceMISTY is a powercraft built in NSW in the late1950s. It is an example of the clinker speedboats built to a very high standard by the Sydney-based firm, Hammond Craft in the 1950s and 1960s. The hull is in original condition and shows the craftsmanship for which Hammond Craft were renowned.
