DescriptionSEAWAVE was built as Job Number 1001 for J Farren-Price who had a business selling clocks and timepieces. He called the boat MISS CHRONOMETER. A dinghy was also built by Halvorsen's for the cruiser, Job Number 1005.

It was known as SYLPH when owned by the Lawson family from 1979 to 1986, a name they used for all the craft they had owned, which included larger Halvorsen cruisers. It was also called CHLOE for a period and changed owners a number of times in the 1990s. It reverted to being called SEAWAVE in 1989 and remained in use at Pittwater and Broken Bay north of Sydney.

When it changed owners in 2007 the new owners decided it was time for an overhaul and restoration project. The hull was sound but the superstructure and interior needed work to return the craft to its 1950s standard. New panels and decking were added where required, and the twin portholes in the hull were removed and filled in. In 2008 the restored SEAWAVE is an immacualte example of the Halvorsen fleet.

SignificanceSEAWAVE is an example of a standard 30 ft (9.14 m) length motor cruiser built for a private owner in 1950 by the prolific firm of Lars Halvorsen Sons Ltd, better known for their larger luxury craft and fleet of hire cruisers.
